The items I listed minus the higher priced J15 and S15 are all the units I am looking at. The Panamax units are touted but get pricey. What really is the best choice for home AV protection. I wanted a new thread for a new discussion. people start talking all electrical engineering and that really doesnt do me any good. there have been a number of threads with no real god answer. If I go with the multi-unit option, can I plug the UPS into the line conditioner, or is that bad for the UPS? I was thinking if I go with a line conditioner, then I get just a simple UPS for the projector and DVR, such as this unit from APC ( ) or this tripp-lite unit ( tripp-lite ) These all seem like very good units for the purpose of line conditioning and surge protection in home theater setups. Or the other option it to get a line conditioner like the Belkin PF60, APC H10, APC H15 or there is the Monster HTS3600. Or can I get away with the Belkin unit that has been mentioned in the past, the FC10 ( Belkin Unit ) I am trying to decide if I am better off spending a bunch of money on something like the APC j15 ( ) or the even higher priced S15. It is my understanding that for items like the receiver, dvd/bluray a controlled shutdown is not as important.
REAL MAGIC LINE CONDITIONER PLUS
Plus I know this is better for the HD in the unit. The other item I would like protected is my DVR, I figure because it takes 5-10 minutes to reboot, I would rather keep in online when power drops. If I lose power, I want a chance to shut it off, so some sort of UPS is needed. With that said, I want to ensure I am covered for my projector. Other than these two moments, power is pretty good, but we still get the random outages.

The other time is storms, when they say you should have your stuff off anyway. The biggest concern is summer when it get hot and power goes off for a few moments because everyone start to crank their AC. I have spent the better part of the afternoon and now evening trying to make a decision on what the right thing to do is.
